Judy Walker

was founded by Judy
Walker, an actress, inventor and designer originally from
Seattle

Washington
,
who is well-known for her inventive spirit and unusual ideas. Judy spent
many years in
Malibu
,
California
working
as an actress and raising her family, as well as starting and running
the TOPS Gallery in
Malibu
, which catered to
an exclusive entertainment industry clientele. TOPS
Malibu
wholesale was born when Henri Bendel and
Neiman Marcus came to Judy to design a line of gift products for their
cosmetic department. Today Judy lives in
Hawaii
where she continues to delight and surprise us with her innovative
designs.

I was traveling with my husband and 5 year old daughter 3 months
ago. We live in
Los Angeles
but happened to
be on a ferry boat in the
San Juan Islands
. Another family was sitting next to us with their little girl and our
girls
started playing. The mom
pulled out two of your party balls and the girls were enchanted with
them. They played
with them for the full hour we were on the ferry and had a wonderful

Bami Ball – Surprise Ball!
One
of our best-known and loved products is the Bami Ball. The term Bami
Ballä
comes from
Holland
in the
1800’s and means a Dutch Play Ball. Bami Ballsä
or Surprize Ballsä
are created from more than 90 ft. of colorful
crepe paper. As the crepe paper is unraveled surprises and gifts spill
out. The earliest evidence of Bami Ballsä
is
found in the American Indian culture. It was common practice to tell the
history of one’s life from this unique ball.
The ball’s first layer begins at birth and for each event in life a
memento was wrapped into a layer of the ball.
The ball represents a person’s entire life. In the 1950’s
Surprise Balls were handmade, most frequently found in
the
Midwest
. Gifts and novelty trinkets were wrapped in layers of paper, creating a
beautiful and unique gift ball.
